AcriPlex launches the 5G SBBD, a private production platform built by production engineers, at IBC 2026

AcriPlex launches its 5G SBBD system at IBC 2026 — integrated private 5G, edge compute and AC/DC power in a single airline-checkable case, giving production teams dedicated spectrum, guaranteed bandwidth and consistent low latency anywhere they need to work.

IBC 2026 — Amsterdam, Netherlands — September 1, 2026 — Live production is moving away from the OB truck. Crews are smaller, more cameras and production devices are wireless, remote and distributed workflows are routine rather than the exception, and a growing share of the work happens at venues and locations with no existing video or network infrastructure.

Today, AcriPlex launches its 5G SBBD system — a private 5G platform built by experienced production engineers that provides a reliable IP-based camera contribution network deployable anywhere in a matter of minutes. The platform integrates private 5G with edge compute and can host Haivision’s StreamHub software for low-latency contribution, routing and distribution of live video streams directly at the network edge. The system arrives in hard cases, runs on batteries, and is rigged by the production crew already on the job — without anyone needing to know telecom technology.

"Most private 5G systems are treated as a telecom project and arrive with everything a telecom project brings — a scope document, a site survey, engineers that have to be scheduled weeks before anyone is on air. This one comes from the production side, and you can tell. It runs on the batteries and the cable we already own, one crew member rigs it without a network engineer standing behind them, and when a battery runs low you swap it and nothing stops. The mobile orchestration app lets crews configure, monitor and launch the network in minutes, without specialist telecom expertise."

— Dane Brehm, Chief Executive Officer, Cintegral Technologies

The AcriPlex 5G SBBD system is available now for purchase or rental, and can be experienced at IBC 2026, September 11–14, in the Cintegral stand — Hall 1, Stand D25.

Purpose-built for live production

A private 5G network is a wireless cellular system that you control rather than rent from a mobile operator. Every camera source is encoded to a low-latency contribution feed using Haivision Falkon X2 Ultra, Makito or Pro460 transmitters and encoders — all extensively tested and validated with the AcriPlex platform for interoperability and performance.

Video transmitters, as well as modern smartphones, join the network using provided SIM cards. Once source devices have an IP address they can be treated like a software-defined network and configured remotely. Haivision StreamHub can be natively hosted on the AcriPlex edge server as the receive, decode, routing and stream-management platform for the network — handling point-to-point and point-to-multipoint workflows and providing local outputs and distribution directly from the deployment site, without additional rack-mounted infrastructure.

Arriving a day early to run camera cables is a thing of the past

No rack, no generator, no specialist

An integrated 5G radio, 5G core, edge computer and IP switch mount on a heavy-duty light stand. Non-specialist crew deploy it in about ten minutes, and it travels as airline luggage in a rugged shock-proof case.

A full shoot day on camera batteries

Three slots for standard 14.4 V V-Lock / Gold Mount broadcast batteries, or an external 26–28 V cinema pack. Hot-swap one of three and nothing drops — up to 15 hours on 420 Wh while also powering a Starlink Mini.

Powered-But-Pending

Nothing radiates until the crew commits. Survey coverage, connect user equipment, verify timing and align backhaul with everything powered — then bring the network up on a single command. A patented AcriPlex feature.

One SKU to stock

Every node is identical — roles are assigned in software and elected between nodes. One line item, one set of spares, one set of paperwork: the same unit ships as a single-node job this week and part of a multi-node network the next.

Coverage extends on cable you already own

Multiple nodes connect in a ring over standard SMPTE 311M hybrid cable to cover wide areas indoors and out. The patent-pending DC power ring carries data and power with multiple connection points, so a cut cable does not break the network.

A virtual edge cloud, not just a network

Nodes pool their compute into a distributed edge cloud running virtualised production workloads. StreamHub runs natively — four simultaneous streams to four HD-SDI channels, no rack and no round trip to the internet — as does virtualised intercom matrix software, on the same nodes over the same network.

For backhaul, a Starlink Mini, a mmWave 60 GHz link or Taara Lightbridge free-space optics, plus fibre ports, connect the deployment directly to the internet for going live or to a REMI cloud control room.

"We are not selling private 5G as static infrastructure. We have a portable, ruggedized, integrated product that can move where the events and the crowds go. Our advanced orchestration software makes the system easy to use and reconfigure for different events without needing to know all the 5G telecom jargon. Rental houses will love the system because it incorporates the camera, battery and support equipment they already own into a new wireless configuration for the productions of the future. Our job is to arm them with 5G technology that makes sense."

— Evangelos Achillopoulos, CTO, AcriPlex

Together with Cintegral Technologies, AcriPlex will demonstrate the system at IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, September 11–14, in the Main Hall 1, Stand D25. Schedule a demo to see how AcriPlex, Taara Lightbridge, Haivision and Green-GO 5G intercom work together for a complete wireless production package.
